JOHN GOODMANSON Peacefully on October 10, 2009 John Valdemar Goodmanson passed away at Deer Lodge Centre at 91 years of age. John was born June 6, 1918, and raised in Langruth, Manitoba. He joined the army in 1941, and was a veteran of the Second World War. He was also a member of the Strathcona Horse Regiment. After the war, John and his family setup roots in Gladstone, Manitoba till 1970. At that time he made his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba till his demise. John was predeceased by five brothers and one sister. John is survived by his son Brian (Barbara); daughter Anita (Louie) Speiss; four grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Goodmanson and Philip and Brad Speiss; two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, along with extended family members. John will also be missed and forever remembered by his many friends. Many thanks to the kind and caring staff at the Lion's Manor Supportive Housing Unit and Deer Lodge Centre (Tower 7). Following John's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Interment is planned for a later date. Donations, if desired may be made in John's memory to a charity of one's choice.
